Randy Grau is a dedicated husband and father, public servant, community volunteer, and Edmond native. He attended school and church here most of his life. Randy graduated from Edmond Memorial High School in 1994, where he was valedictorian and senior class president. Randy attended Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif., on a full scholarship, where he graduated magna cum laude and helped found a service fraternity.
Randy values the education he received in Edmond and wants to ensure that public schools are funded adequately, and private schools and home-schooling families are protected, so that his son’s generation will have the same opportunities to continue their education that Randy did.
After college, Randy returned home to Oklahoma and received his law degree with honors from the University of Oklahoma. As a young attorney, Randy represented the Oklahoma Bar Association as a delegate to the Czech Republic where he encouraged civic education and taught schoolchildren the importance of participation in their community and government.
With the values of service instilled in him by his parents and community, Randy put his law degree to work for the people of Oklahoma County serving as deputy commissioner under County Commissioner Ray Vaughn. In the commissioner’s office, Randy has gained the professional experience and knowledge to understand how state and local government work and what Edmond needs to continue growing.
A committed Christian, Randy and his wife, Dr. Renee Grau, attend Quail Springs Church of Christ, where Randy teaches Sunday school. The Graus believe that a strong spiritual foundation is the key to a moral life. That’s why Randy and Renee are raising their young son, Reagan, to follow the same Christian values.
As part of his commitment to service, Randy climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in August 2009 to raise money for African schoolchildren. He volunteers monthly representing abused and neglected children through Lawyers for Children, and he and his family volunteer monthly at a local retirement home.
Randy has served our community as deputy county commissioner and now he wants to serve us at the Capitol. As our state representative, he will put his experience and conservative values to work making Oklahoma a better place to live, work and raise a family. |
